Sherman, Texas – The Greater Texoma Jazz Ensemble will continue its Summer Jazz Concert Series with performances at local venues in July. All concerts are free and open to the public.
July 7 – Whitesboro First Baptist Church, 7 p.m.
July 14 – Sherman Public Library, 7 p.m.
July 21 – Knight Furniture, Downtown Sherman, 5 p.m.
This summer’s concerts will include styles ranging from classic swing, modern gospel, a jazz waltz, and a bossa nova, as well as an early Christmas adaptation. Soloists for the concert include alto saxists Andy Wright and Hunter Thomson, tenor saxists Mason McCormack and Dylan Steverson, trumpeter John Vietta, trombonist Jesse Spear, and guitarist Drake Goodrich.
The Greater Texoma Jazz Ensemble, directed by Austin College emeritus faculty member Dr. Ricky Duhaime, is comprised of students, faculty, and community members from across Northeastern Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma.
