Dodd City, Texas -- With the district opener a little more than a week away, the Dodd City Lady Hornets tuned up with a three-set win over the Avery Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Hornets gained momentum as the match progressed winning 25-19, 25-15 and 25-7.
Dodd City's Addison Weeks led all hitters with 18 kills, Gracyn Shindler put down eight kills, Kodi Dorau finished with four kills, while Lindsey, Kaleigh McBrayer, Caroline Lackey and Voss all contributed one kills apiece.
Shindler doled out 13 assists, Adisen White and Weeks both had six assists, Kenzi Freeman dished out four assists and McBrayer had three assists.
Shindler also had a team-high 18 digs.
Lackey had one block.
Dodd City, ranked No. 17 in Class A, improved to 15-12 on the season
The Lady Hornets will be on the road Tuesday at Grayson Christian and then host Sulphur Bluff on Friday, October 3 before opening district at Savoy on Tuesday, October 7.
