Community invited to share ideas
through engagement survey
Paris, Texas -- The Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site is reaching out to the community for input on the future of its tours, programs, and exhibits. As part of an ongoing commitment to make the site more welcoming, engaging, and educational, the public is invited to participate in a brief Community Engagement Survey designed to gather ideas and feedback from residents, visitors, educators, and history enthusiasts.
The survey will help the site better understand community interests and priorities, and shape offerings that reflect local stories, culture, and educational needs. Whether you’ve visited the Maxey House once, many times, or never before, your voice matters.
“We are proud to be stewards of one of Texas’s historic treasures,” said Stacie Flood, site manager of the Sam Bell Maxey House. “But to ensure we are serving our community in the best way possible, we need to hear directly from the people we serve. This survey is a chance for everyone to influence what the Maxey House becomes in the years ahead.”
The survey is open through September 30, 2025, and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card, courtesy of the Friends of the Sam Bell Maxey House. The survey can be accessed online at: bit.ly/maxey-survey
Feedback will directly inform future programming and the development of new interpretive tours and exhibits, ensuring the historic site remains a relevant and vibrant part of the community.
