The closure will be in place until mid-March to early April of 2026.
The closure will allow the construction of the new Taylor Street bridge. During the closure, traffic will be detoured via the frontage roads.
TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution throughout the closure period. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
