Bonham, Texas -- Sharon Broome was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on January 11, 1943 to Howard Kennedy Broome and Mary Jane Kooser Broome. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1961 where she was selected as most attractive in 1959 and 1960.
She met her husband Bob at North Texas State University in Denton. They were married 61 years. She was incredibly creative and talented with a big imagination and happiest when painting, decorating, reupholstering, gardening, cooking, and inventing many amazing things.
Sharon especially loved nature, being amazed by God’s creations. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren who referred to her as NeNa.
Preceded in death by her husband Bob who passed recently on April 4, 2025. Also preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Charles Broome who was an Air Force Vietnam Agent Orange veteran.
Sharon is survived by her son Robert and his wife Christi and grandson Logan; son Chris and his wife Rachel and granddaughter Rebecca and grandsons Jack and David; daughter Ashlea Fraser and her husband Eddie Fraser and their daughter Tara; and daughter Meredith Gill and her husband Matt Gill and grandson Turner and Karson.
Family visitation will be at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove, Texas.
