The art contest judge is Lisa Temple. She is a Texas-based fine artist known for her bold, movement-driven oil paintings that blend abstract expressionism with figurative storytelling. With roots in dance and choreography, her work captures emotion, rhythm, and energy on canvas. Some recent projects involve collaborative performance artworks with dancers, a saxophonists and other performing artists and photographers. Lisa painted directly onto the subject and canvas backdrop while photographers captured living artworks in motion.
Lisa’s experience in the arts spans 24 years beginning with portraiture study and ongoing classes and workshops. She works in her McKinney Cotton Mill studio/gallery, has traveled throughout the region showing her work at area art shows, and displays her work at the Last Art Gallery in McKinney. Lisa had the opportunity to travel to Italy this summer and study under David Kassan and Shana Levenson.
