Bonham, Texas -- A new month brings exciting events to the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site in Bonham, TX. Our 50th anniversary tours will now occur on Wednesday, October 1 and Wednesday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. due to a change in operating hours.

Starting September 3, 2025, we will be open to visitors on Wednesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tours of the house will take place on the hour each day, with the last tour of the day at 4:00 p.m.

We’ll be playing Chickenfoot dominoes on September 17 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and on September 20 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome to participate in this free program.

You’re all invited to our biggest event of the year on the last Saturday in September – Farming Heritage Day! From 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on September 27, you can enjoy speaking with demonstrators, antique tractor clubs, local farmers and ranchers, games, activities, and free hot dogs (while supplies last)! We wouldn’t be able to have this event without our generous sponsors: the Friends of Sam Rayburn, Fix & Feed, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, and the East Texas A&M University College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources!

Look out for more announcements about Farming Heritage Day in your local news sources and on our social media channels.

Finally, we’re excited to announce our participation at Ike’s History Festival happening at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site in Denison, TX! On September 5 and September 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., we’ll have our Fannin Fastballers program at this event to teach you about Fannin County baseball history, safety tips for pitching baseballs, and let you throw some
fastballs at our pitching net! This event has an entrance fee of $3.00 per person.
