McKinney, Texas -- The McKinney North Lady Bulldogs took over sole possession of first place in District 9-5A with a three-set win over Prosper Walnut Grove.
McKinney North and Prosper Walnut Grove both came into this contest sporting spotless 5-0 district records.
All three sets were decided by three points or less and had fans on the edge of their seats.
McKinney North set the tone for the night with a 25-22 win in the opener. The Lady Bulldogs followed up with wins of 25-23 and 25-23 for a sweep.
McKinney North junior Nicole Jacobson paced the attack with a dozen kills.
Anna Sayman knocked down nine kills, with Chloe Lewis, Tinley Brubaker, Ella McNeal and Kaitlyn Jefferson all finished with four kills apiece.
Malia McNeal dished out 16 assists to her Lady Bulldog hitters and Jordan Kowallis had 10 assists.
Jefferson was also a force on defense with four blocks and Jefferson was close behind with three blocks.
Kowallis had a team-high four aces.
This was McKinney North's 12th consecutive victory after the Lady Bulldogs had previously dispatched Lovejoy on Tuesday.
In other district competition, Lovejoy swept Melissa.
