McKinney, Texas -- The McKinney Boyd Broncos had three quarters to enjoy homecoming night before a late rally gave the Rock Hill Blue Hawks an 11-point win.
The Broncos got a safety in the opening period and a field goal in the second quarter to take a 5-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
McKinney Boyd went up 11-0 in the third quarter on a 32-yard scoring strike from Marcus Johnson to Timothy Karsholt.
Rock Hill got on the scoreboard with eight minutes remaining in the game when Nathanel Lee scored on a short run. A pass from Nate Vincent to Bryce Allen was good for two points.
A successful onside kick gave Rock Hill the ball. A TD pass and PAT gave Rock Hill a 15-11 advantage with seven minutes in the game.
Rock Hill stretched its lead to 22-11 with another touchdown pass and extra point with one minute left to play.
McKinney Boyd's final drive ended when Rock Hill picked off a pass.
