Open house event provides opportunity to meet admissions and financial aid advisors, take guided tours of campus and residence hall, connect with student life groups and win $500 prizes
Dallas, Texas -- One of its largest events of the year, The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) will host its annual True Blue Preview Day on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, the event welcomes high school and transfer students for an up-close look at Dallas’ only public, accredited four-year university.
Guests can tour classrooms, the residence hall, study and collaboration spaces, athletic areas and the Student Center, while meeting current students, alumni, academic advisors, financial aid experts, Esports team members and career counselors. Visitors will also learn about dozens of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, online pathways, and career-based certificates, as well as UNT Dallas’ affordable tuition and flexible options for balancing education with work and family life. This year, UNT Dallas has added several new programs, from logistics and supply chain management to pre-health (nursing), and a 100% online degree in social work.
The event is timed to coincide with homecoming and the tailgate celebration prior to the men’s and women’s basketball games. Visitors can get a glimpse of campus life as students cheer on the UNT Dallas Trailblazers and show their school spirit.

The university is home to Dallas’ only public law school and will soon open a new STEM building that expands healthcare and science programs, with classes beginning in January 2026. Among the new academic offerings is a 2+2 nursing program in which students attend UNT Dallas for two years, followed by medical school UNT Health in Fort Worth for two years, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
“The UNT Dallas faculty and staff are deeply committed to academic excellence and experiential learning that prepares students for high-demand careers in today’s workforce,” said Dr. Warren von Eschenbach, UNT Dallas President. “We work closely with each student to chart a personalized path to a purpose-driven career that fits their interests, lifestyle and budget – connecting their academic goals with real-world opportunities and the support they need to thrive.”
Attendees can enter a raffle to win a book and supplies credit worth up to $500. The award, which will be given to 10 students, can be redeemed at the UNT Dallas bookstore for books and classroom materials for one semester. Winners must be present and enrolled in a UNT Dallas degree program to receive the award.
