Grayson County, Texas -- Tuesday, November 11 at 6:30 p.m., you're invited to bring your family to the Grayson County Historical Society for we are giving honor to our men and women who served this country. For this special evening we have invited T'ata Begay of the Choctaw Nation to give our program telling the history of the WWI Choctaw Code Talkers.
The soldiers from the 36th Infantry Division served as America's first Code Talkers. While the Choctaw Soldiers are the most documented group of the WWI Code Talkers, the army used nine tribal languages during the war.
T'ata Begay, who we are glad to welcome again, is giving our program. This young lady has many talents. She and her entire family are powwow dancers. T'ata and her family were recently honored in Japan with their dance. T'ata is willing to share her knowledge of the history and culture of the Choctaw Nation. She holds several degrees and has always been an honor student.

For those not in the know, the Grayson County Historical Society is now on FaceBook with the help of our Board Member, Samantha Wortz.
Our meeting time is 6:30 p.m. at the Frontier Village in the Judge Vaughan Room located at Loy Lake, Hwy 75 south exit 61.
You are welcome Tuesday evening with an interesting program and lite refreshments afterward.
If you need more information please call our president, Mike Shaw (903-464-9962), Frontier Village or Jeri Bassett at 903-647-5674.
