Today we celebrate the 250th birthday anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. From its beginning in Tun’s Tavern, the Marine Corps has stood between us and those who would do us harm.
Happy Birthday to all Marines, wherever you are on this day! Ask any Marine, “How is it going?"
The answer more often than not will be, “Every day is a holiday, and every meal is a feast!"
To what can we attribute the longevity of the Marine Corps? The Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment are essential and inviolable.
This foundation is solid.
The Marine Corps web site says it very well:
“The Marine Corps’ values are honor, courage, and commitment. They are the standard that guides every Marine’s action in our fight to win for our nation’s collective future. These values bolster our resolve and
reinforce our innate resilience as we face physical, mental, and moral battles in combat.”
Happy Birthday! God bless the Marine Corps!
