Sherman, Texas -- The 2026 Austin College Posey Leader-in-Residence, Jeffrey Rosen, has generously donated 1,200 copies of his newest book, The Pursuit of Liberty: How Hamilton vs. Jefferson Ignited the Lasting Battle Over Power in America, to the college so that every student may have a free copy.

The book, which was just released on October 21, 2025, has received critical acclaim. Rosen is the author of several other books, including The New York Times bestsellers The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Lives of the Founders and Defined America and Conversations with RBG: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Life, Love, Liberty, and Law, as well as acclaimed biographies of Louis Brandeis and William Howard Taft.

Rosen is the President and CEO of the National Constitution Center, where he hosts We the People, a weekly podcast of constitutional debate, as well as a professor of law at The George Washington University Law School and a contributing editor of The Atlantic. He was previously the legal affairs editor of The New Republic and a staff writer for The New Yorker.

As the 2026 Posey Leader-In-Residence, Rosen will engage with students in a series of virtual sessions throughout the academic year, leading up to the Posey Leadership Award presentation in April 2026, where Rosen will be available to sign books in person.

“Anytime the Posey Leadership Award recipient has authored a book, we work to distribute a limited number of copies on campus through raffles and giveaways, but of course that only reaches a small fraction of the student body.  We also make sure they are available for purchase in the campus bookstore. When we mentioned this to Mr. Rosen, and he offered to donate enough copies to give one to every single student, we were blown away by his generosity,” said Heidi Rushing, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Austin College. “It is reflective of Mr. Rosen’s attitude of servant leadership and commitment to making education accessible for all through the National Constitution Center.”

In anticipation of his upcoming virtual sessions with students, IMC Interns will host a table to distribute copies of Rosen’s book to students on November 17, 18, and 19 in Wright Campus Center from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with more dates planned for the spring. Students are encouraged to stop by, pick up their copy, and bring it with them to the Posey Leadership Award welcome reception in the spring, where Rosen will be available to meet students and sign books in person.
