Leonard, Texas -- Hot on the heels of an exciting season of playoff volleyball, the Leonard Lady Tigers have started the 2025-2026 basketball season with a 3-1 run.

Leonard's only loss so far came a mere four days after the conclusion of volleyball when Class 4A Chapel Hill slipped by Leonard, 38-29.

The Lady Tigers evened their record at 1-1 with a 56-44 win over Chisum.

Last Friday, Leonard edged Como-Pickton, 53-51, and Tuesday night Leonard routed Prairiland, 55-30, to move to 3-1 on the year.

Leonard will make a short trip down Hwy. 69 on Saturday, November 22 to take on neighboring Whitewright. Tip-off in the varsity-only contest is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
