Dodd City, Texas -- The Collinsville Lady Hornets raced out to a 16-2 lead on their way to a 51-38 win over the Dodd City Lady Hornets.

Dodd City came into the game with a 3-0 record and the Lady Hornets are ranked No. 8 in Class A.

Collinsville, a member of District 13-2A, entered the contest with a 7-1 mark. The only blemish on the record of the Lady Pirates came at the hands of Class 4A Bridgeport.

Dodd City traded baskets with Collinsville in the second period, but the fast start gave the Lady Pirates a 33-20 lead at the half.

Collinsville had a 21-point advantage at the end of the third quarter, 48-27. A strong finish by Dodd City allowed the Lady Hornets to put together an 11-3 run in the final frame, but Collinsville earned a 13-point win on the road.  

Dodd City will host the Craig Reed Invitational Basketball Tournament which tips-off December 4 when The Lady Hornets take on Sam Rayburn at 5:00 p.m.

 Tournament action continues Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
