Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets moved to 8-2 on the year with a 17-point win over Class 2A Era.
Era jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Dodd City sophomore Kendyl Lindsey hit back-to-back baskets and freshman Kodi Dorau knocked down two points to give Dodd City a 6-3 lead.
Era put up two points but Dodd City senior Addison Weeks drained a triple to give Dodd City an 8-5 lead as the first quarter ended.
Era connected for a three-pointer to tie the game at 8-8. Gracyn Shindler netted a free throw, Weeks hit her second three-point shot, Dorau worked inside for a bucket and Weeks put up two points as Dodd City completed an 8-0 run to double up on Era, 16-8. Era got the next basket before a bank shot by Weeks gave Dodd City an 18-10 lead at halftime.
Dodd City led 24-14 after the third period and finished the night with a 35-18 victory.
Addison Weeks had a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Kodi Dorau put up eight points, Gracyn Shindler scored three points and grabbed seven rebounds, Kendyl Lindsey finished with four points and three rebounds, and Makayla Camp contributed two points. Caroline Lackey pulled down a pair of rebounds.
Dodd City (8-2) will compete in the Farmersville Tournament December 11-13. Era (6-2) will host Sam Rayburn December 12.
