Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming nightly full closure of the southbound mainlanes of US 75, beginning at Exit 64. The closures are scheduled to begin from 8 p.m. on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, until 5 a.m. on Dec 18 and Dec. 19. These closures are to set girders on the new exit ramp from US 75 to SH-91/Travis Street and to continue the bridge deck paving on Taylor Street.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Exit 64 onto the southbound Sam Rayburn Expressway. Motorists should continue south along the frontage road, bypassing the work area on the mainlanes, and re-enter US 75 using the next available entrance ramp.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
