The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming frontage road closure and detour for travelers in Sherman. At 8 p.m. Dec. 18, until 5 a.m. Dec. 19, the northbound frontage road between Lamberth Road and Masters Street will be closed to facilitate frontage road paving. This closure is part of TxDOT's ongoing efforts to enhance roadway safety and efficiency in the area.

Motorists intending to access travel north on the NBFR between Lamberth Road and Masters Street will turn east down Lamberth Road to Loy Lake Road, then turn left onto Loy Lake Road.  Traveling north to the intersection of Loy Lake Road and the westbound frontage road of US 82, then turn left and travel west towards the northbound frontage road of US 75. From there drivers can access the NBFR and US 75. A detour will be in place to guide motorist.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to pay close attention to all traffic controls and remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
