Bonham, Texas -- Grandon Britt, 92, of Bonham, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 25, 1933, in Hope, Arkansas, to Edwin and Madie Britt.

Grandon was a man who stayed busy throughout his life, whether at work or enjoying his many hobbies. He had a passion for flying ultra-light planes, riding motorcycles, and camping, and he especially cherished time spent outdoors.

A devoted man of faith, Grandon was an active member of First Baptist Church in Mexia, where he served as a Deacon, and later attended Edhube Baptist Church. An exceptionally skilled carpenter, he possessed a remarkable talent for building just about anything.

Grandon’s love for his family was evident in all he did. He took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s ballgames and creating lasting memories on family trips, with Branson, Missouri being one of his favorite destinations.

Grandon was united in marriage to his first wife, Iris Gail Britt, on May 20, 1950. Together they had a loving marriage. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1996. He later married his second wife, Annie Sheffield, on July 25, 1998, who also preceded him in death on April 7, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Iris Gail Britt and his second wife Annie Sheffield; his son, Dennis Britt; and his brother, Jody Britt.

Grandon is survived by his loving daughter, Regina Lindsey and husband John of Bonham, daughter-in-law Terri Britt of Frisco, his grandchildren: Mike Lindsey and wife Melinda of Lorena, Michelle Whitehead and husband Ken of McKinney, Mandy Barker and husband Adam of Sherman, Brandon Britt and wife Michele of Celina, Byron Britt and wife Becca of Plano, Cody St. John and wife Jessi of McKinney, Shelby Covington and husband Ty of Frisco, his sister, Scharlene Darr and husband Cecil of Terrell, brother Ronnie Britt and wife Kim of Mt. Pleasant, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Other survivors include Grandon’s beloved bonus family, Carol Ann Dawley and husband James of Mexia, Marcus Sheffield and wife Sheryl of Mexia, Kent Sheffield and wife Connie of Teague, and their children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas, on January 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw, Arkansas, on January 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
