Sherman, Texas -- James Douglas Crow, 84, of Sherman, TX, died Monday, December 29, 2025, at a Plano, TX hospital.
James was born July 20, 1941, in Shamrock, TX, to George Russell and Pauline (Latimer) Crow. He was a 1960 graduate of Shamrock High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962, serving for 4 years.
On May 17, 1969, James married Lequeta Cain in Bonham, TX. He was the owner of James Crow Insurance Agency, representing Farmers Insurance in
Sherman, TX, for 37 years. Over the years, he received many awards and recognitions from Farmers Insurance.
James was active in several civic activities in Sherman, TX. He served as president of the Sherman Kiwanis Club. He was also a past president of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Posse, where he was instrumental in organizing the group’s appearance in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Crow; siblings, Georgetta Durnan and Barbara Miller; mother and father-in-law, Audry and Margaret
Cain.
James is survived by his wife, Laqueta Crow; sister, Phyllis Daughtrey and husband, Tommy; sister-in-law, Louise Via and her husband Andy; sister-in-law, Debbie Winkler and her husband Rip.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Mulberry Cemetery, Mulberry Community, in Fannin County, TX. Military honors will be presented. Rev. Bobby Fletcher and Rev. Darrell Hall will officiate.
