Dodd City, Texas -- After notching a 20-point win over Community last week, another Class 4A team felt the sting of the Dodd City Lady Hornets on Tuesday night, and this time it was Wills Point with the little end of a 45-28 score.
Wills Point put up the first two points before Dodd City freshman Kodi Dorau hit back-to-back baskets to give the Lady Hornets a 4-2 lead. Wills Point pulled even at 4-4, but Dodd City's high-scoring senior, Addison Weeks, netted a pair of free throws to ignite a 6-0 run. Weeks fired a pass inside to Dorau for two points and Gracyn Shindler scored on a breakaway to give Dodd City a 10-4 lead at the first buzzer.
Weeks poured in 11 points in the second period as the Lady Hornets took a 28-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Dodd City had a 33-17 advantage going into the fourth quarter and cruised to a 45-28 win in front of their hometown fans.
Addison Weeks had a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Weeks also led the Lady Hornets in assists (6) and steals (3).
Kodi Dorau joined Weeks in double digits with 13 points to go along with four rebounds and four deflections.
Kendyl Lindsey put up three points, dished off a pair of assists and came up with a pair of steals.
Gracyn Shindler finished with two points, three rebounds, two assists and a team-high seven deflections that led to steals.
Kayleigh McBrayer tossed in two points, handed out two assists and pulled down one rebound.
The Lady Hornets will open district competition Friday, January 9, 2026 at Savoy.
