McKinney, Texas -- The McKinney North Bulldogs defeated the Lovejoy Leopards 65-58 in a very important district matchup on January 6, 2026 at McKinney North High School.

Lovejoy had the early advantage, leading 15-12 after the first quarter and 28-27 at the half.

McKinney North would outscore Lovejoy 38-30 during the final two periods to rally for a seven-point victory, 65-58.

McKinney North junior Kaeler Impelman poured in 26 points, Preston Spolar was also in double figures with 11 points, Jeremiah Hall knocked down nine points, Aiden Spurrier put up eight points, Ethan Ewans scored seven and Jaelon Keys finished with four points.

Spolar pulled down a team-high six rebounds and Evans grabbed three boards.

The Bulldogs (2-0) will take their show on the road Friday when McKinney North travels to Walnut Grove (1-1).
