Savoy, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets opened District 19A with a 49-20 win over the Savoy Lady Cardinals.
The Lady Hornets went on a 16-0 run in the first quarter. Dodd City's Kodi Dorau got the scoring started with a basket in the paint. Gracyn Shindler dropped in a lay-up and then hit a baseline jump shot. Addison Weeks put up the next 10 points with a pair of lay-ups and two three-point shots.
Dodd City put together a 13-2 run in the second period to build a 29-2 lead at the half.
The Lady Hornets led 46-8 going into the fourth quarter on their way to a 49-20 victory on the road.
Addison Weeks led all scorers with 20 points and also had a game-high 10 rebounds for another double-double.
Gracyn Shindler was also in double figures with 13 points.
Makayla Camp finished with four points, Kennedy Chaney, Kendyl Lindsey and Kodi Dorau all finished with three points apiece, Kayleigh McBrayer put up two points and Caarla Medina hit a free throw.
Lindsey hauled in six rebounds, while Shindler and Dorau both had four rebounds.
Weeks had a team-high five steals and Shindler was close behind with four steals.
McBrayer and Camp each had two steals.
Savoy was led by Addy Hernandez and Chelsea Glover with seven points apiece and Libby Hill scored six.
