Fort Worth, Texas -- The Fort Worth Herd is proud to be part of the 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo with special appearances and opportunities for guests to experience Fort Worth’s living Western heritage up close.

To kick off rodeo season, the Fort Worth Herd will participate in the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo All Western Parade on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. The Herd’s wagon will be led by Trail Boss Georgia Cartwright, accompanied by two drovers, and will include Fort Worth City Council members on board.

“Being part of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is a natural fit for the Fort Worth Herd,” said Georgia Cartwright, Trail Boss. “The Herd is about preserving and sharing the traditions that built this city and there’s no better place to celebrate that legacy than the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.”

In addition to the parade, guests can see the Fort Worth Herd’s iconic longhorns during the Stock Show. A selection of Fort Worth Herd steers will be on display from January 16-20 for viewing by visitors. The steers will be exhibited for public enjoyment and education and will not be offered for sale.

The Fort Worth Herd steers will also be featured during the Eddie Wood Cowtown Classic Longhorn Sale on Saturday, January 17 at 11a.m. During the sale, visitors will have the chance to see some of the Herd (on display only) and raise their paddles in support of Friends of the Fort Worth Herd, the nonprofit that helps sustain and support the Fort Worth Herd’s mission and operations.

Adding to the moment, Randy Murray has donated a longhorn during the sale, with all proceeds benefiting the Fort Worth Herd.

This partnership with the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo provides an additional way for locals and visitors to connect with Fort Worth’s Western identity; where history isn’t just remembered, it’s lived.
