Bernice is really one of the keepers of the flame
of Real Songwriting. -- Rosanne Cash
You are invited to attend a Harmony House Concert on Sunday, February 8, '26, 3:00-5:00 p.m., featuring one of the most authentic female singer-songwriters ever, Bernice Lewis. Your hosts, Faye Wedell and Scott Lipsett, were fortunate to go on a rafting trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon for ten days with Bernice ten years ago.
Bernice is known for her many songs about the Grand Canyon, and her voice resonated off the Canyon walls during this memorable trip. More about Bernice below.

Make reservations for this Harmony House Concert by calling 903-583-2661, leaving your name, contact information (preferably an email address), and the number of seats requested. Faye will contact you soon afterward to confirm. Reservations are $25 per person and are payable on the day of the event by cash or check made payable to Bernice Lewis. Seats are limited, so be sure to make reservations soon. If you should have to cancel, please do so ASAP, as there will be a waiting list. "No shows" are a NO-NO!
Harmony House is located 10 miles north of Bonham, TX and approximately 65 miles NE of the Dallas metroplex. If you need directions, these will be given once you make a reservation. This venue has been in operation for over twenty-five years, and we have hosted numerous outstanding performing artists from the folk genre, including traditional, bluegrass, Americana, the blues, and Texas folk-rock. Come spend an unforgettable, casual afternoon in our vintage reclaimed home surrounded by woodlands and meadows among friendly guests and critters.
Faye and Scott provide "bottomless" cups of coffee, teas, punches, and assorted cheeses and crackers. Guests are requested to bring finger food to share on tables throughout the house. Bernice will perform two 45-minute sets, with a 30-minute intermission in between for grabbing another cuppa' Joe, for meeting and greeting other acoustic music fans, and for purchasing any CDs that Bernice might bring along with any other of her merch.

“For me, it’s about the songs, each different, each a well- thought out message, each a labor of love,” says Bernice. Her seventh CD, Checks & Love Letters, was released in 2014 on Houston based Berkalin Records. Produced in Nashville by Mike T Lewis of The Twangtown Paramours, this collection of originals features guest appearances by Jimmy Van Cleve of Mountain Heart, former student Harris Paseltiner of Darlingside, and MaryBeth Zamer of The Twangtown Paramours.
Lewis has travelled extensively. She has led eight fan-based white water raft trips on The Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. She has led several fan-based trips to Ireland with Janet’s Planet. She’s also toured extensively in the US, Canada, Mexico, and recently was honored to play in Israel.
Bernice is widely known for her History Alive presentation, a multi-media discussion of her family’s emigration from Nazi Germany, specifically designed for Junior and Senior High School classrooms. Her song, “Ways to Survive,” won an award from the American Zionist Movement in 1996.
