Ector, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets moved to 5-0 in District 19-A with a 61-point win over the Ector Lady Eagles.
Ector scored the first basket of the game, but Dodd City reeled off a 19-0 run to take control. The Lady Hornets had a 25-4 lead after the first quarter and Dodd City took a 40-8 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
A 16-0 run in the third period gave Dodd City a 56-8 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Hornets outscored Ector 14-1 in the final frame to earn a 70-9 win on the road.
Dodd City senior Addison Weeks put up 11 points in the opening period and came close to a quadruple double with 23 points, 11 steals, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Kodi Dorau and Gracyn Shindler joined Weeks in double figures with 17 points and 16 points, respectively.
Dorau chalked up her first double-double with 10 rebounds.
Kayleigh McBrayer scored seven, Kennedy Chaney knocked down a triple, with Caroline Lackey and Carla Medina finishing with two points apiece.
Chaney had a team-high eight deflections.
Kendyl Lindsey grabbed five rebounds and deflected four passes.
Makayla Camp deflected five passes and pulled down three rebounds.
The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 3-2 in district
Dodd City will host Savoy on Tuesday, January 27, while Ector will travel to Campbell.
