McKinney Community Development Corporation awards 14 Promotional Grants

McKinney, Texas (January 26, 2026) – The McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) has awarded $124,530 in Promotional and Community Event Grants to support a wide range of community events that promote tourism, local business growth, cultural vibrancy, and civic engagement across McKinney.

“These grants help nonprofits and event organizers boost the visibility of their events through advertising and marketing support. The result is they are able to expand their reach and impact – attracting residents and visitors to experience McKinney.” said MCDC Board Chair George Fuller. “These events provide important support of our mission to partner in bringing community, cultural, and economic development opportunities to McKinney.”

Listed below are the Promotional and Community Grants awarded by MCDC:

 

  • Hertiage Guild of Collin County – Events at Chestnut Square including weekly Farmers Markets, Educational Programs, Ghostly Hauntings, Crazy in May Quilt Exhibit, Salute to Veterans, and Trolley Tours ($13,000)
  • Art by Metta – 2026 Rhythm and Blues Festival ($5,000)
  • ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship – 2026 Country Fair and ManeGait LIVE ($10,000)
  • St. Peter’s Episcopal Church – 2026 McKinney Empty Bowls ($10,000)
  • McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra – 2026-2027 Performances ($11,000)
  • Texas Homegrown Music – Stage at Texas Music Revolution ($9,000)
  • Collin County History Museum – 2026 events and exhibits hosted at the museum ($8,000)
  • SBG Hospitality – 2026 Downtown McKinney Sip & Stroll Series ($13,500)
  • McKinney Repertory Theatre – 2026 performances and collaborations ($1,030)
  • MillHouse Foundation – 2026 art festivals, exhibits and tours ($13,500)
  • Sostenuto Choral Community – 2026 Spring Concert ($2,000)
  • Marching Music Made in McKinney – 2026 Drum Corps International Competition and Drumline Battle ($7,000)
  • McKinney Main Street – 2026 Arts in Bloom ($14,000)
  • 25 Revolutions – Promotional trailer for expanded distribution of the Texas Music Revolution 25-Year Documentary filmed in and highlighting McKinney ($7,500)


The Promotional Grant Program supports the MCDC mission to enhance quality of life for McKinney residents and visitors. Funding decisions were made after thorough application reviews and presentations by each applicant outlining their event’s goals and community impact.
