
Phil was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on February 20, 1958, to Paul Junior and Lula Christine Smith Clark.
He was raised in Wichita Falls and attended Wichita Falls High School. He was a lifelong cowboy and loved everything about the rodeo life.
In December, 1980, he married Alana Morris. Together they built a family they affectionately refer to as the original "Clark 5".
He began his career as a carpenter at an early age. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor from VA North Texas Health Care System at the end of 2019.
Phil was a member of Kings Trail Cowboy Church in Whitewright, Texas, where he served on the Arena Team from 2017 until he accepted the position of Arena Team Leader from June, 2019 to October, 2020.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Paul and Christine; two sisters, Juanita Maxine Baxter and Charlotte Lynn Swartz, and two Brothers, Weldon Leon Emory and William Mitchell Vaughn and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Alana; his children Phillip Lee (P.J.) and wife Jillian, Meagan Wilder and husband Jonathan, and Kayla Clark; seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Kings Trail Cowboy Church, located at 498 Bethel-Cannon Road in Whitewright, Texas.
