Full East and Westbound US 82 Mainlanes, Frontage Roads, and U-Turns at US 75 Closure Notification

Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced upcoming nightly full closures of the following roadways beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on the following dates: Feb. 2 to Feb. 3, Feb. 3 to Feb. 4, Feb. 4 to Feb. 5, and Feb. 5 to Feb. 6. The following closures and lane reductions will be in effect:

 

·         The eastbound and westbound US 82 mainlanes

 

·         The eastbound and westbound US 82 frontage roads at US 75

 

·         The north to south and south to north U-Turns at US 75 and US 82

 

·         The northbound and southbound frontage roads will be reduced to 1-lane in the area of the bridge.

 

·         The northbound and southbound mainlanes will be reduced to 1-lane.

 

These closures are to permit the demolishing of the existing northbound US 75 overpass bridge at US 82.

 

Detours will be posted for traffic to follow.

 

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
