McKinney, Texas -- Friday the 13th had perfect weather for some baseball in North Texas. The McKinney North Bulldogs didn't disappoint, battling Highland Park in a pre-season opener at the newly dedicated Jim Gatewood Field at McKinney North High School.

Bulldogs senior Cade Atosca held down 3rd base last season with a standout performance in the 2025 UIL State Championships. As a senior he's moved to 2nd base and is already making great plays. The McKinney North Bulldogs played a great opener against Highland Park on Friday, February 13, 2026.
