Bogata, Texas - Addison Weeks, Gracyn Shindler and Kayleigh McBrayer combined to pour in 48 points to propel the Dodd City Lady Hornets to a 21-point win over Sulphur Bluff in bi-district action Monday night at Rivercrest High School.
Shindler put up seven points in the opening period to help Dodd City take a 14-5 lead into the second quarter. The Lady Hornets outscored Sulphur Bluff 16-7 in the second frame to take a commanding 30-12 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Dodd City continued to pull away during the final two periods to post a 58-37 win in the opening round of the playoffs.
Addison Weeks had 18 points, nine rebounds, nine steals and four assists.
Gracyn Shindler also put up 18 points to go along with seven steals, six deflected passes and four assists.
Kayleigh McBrayer scored seven points in the fourth quarter and finished with 12 points, two rebounds and two steals.
Kodi Dorau dropped in four points and dished out three assists.
Kendyl Lindsey, Kennedy Chaney and Carla Medina all tossed in two points apiece.
Lindsey grabbed six rebounds and deflected five passes that led to steals.
Dodd City advances to face the winner of winner of Perrin-Whitt/Forestburg in the area round.
