Denison, Texas -- The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site will host the 1st Annual Eisenhower Birthplace Homeschool Picnic on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Homeschoolers and their families are invited to bring their picnic baskets and their curiosity. In addition to a tour of the historic birthplace of our 34th President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, participants will have an opportunity experience what life was like in 1890. Use a pump to get water. Wash and dry laundry the old-fashioned way. Grind coffee beans and churn ice cream by hand. Does this sound like too much work? We will play too.
Challenge your friends to a game of marbles or jacks. Roll some hoops and play some croquet. Take a nature walk along an abandoned railway. Or go on a scavenger hunt.
You can do all of this, and more, for a reduced admission fee of just $3.00 per participant.
Join us for some historic fun and you just might learn something while you are here!
