Bonham, Texas -- With four seats up for election May 2, and with only one candidate filing to run in each of the four races, Bonham City Council is expected to cancel the general election for Ward 1 and Ward 5 and cancel the special election for Ward 4 and mayor.
Jerrad Besch was the lone candidate to file to run in Ward 1 and only one candidate, Ernie Quintana, filed to run in Ward 5. Quintana is the incumbent councilmember representing Ward 5.
Allen Sanderson is the only candidate to file for mayor and Jason Wolf Laughing is the only candidate for Ward 4. Both seats are unexpired terms.
Voters should take notice that the City of Bonham will still be holding a special election May 2 for charter amendments.
