I have and continue to be honored to serve as Fannin County Judge. I will hold that office until January 2027. At that time, I will step down and the office and its duties will be assumed by a new duly elected County Judge. I ran for office on a platform of transparency, honesty, and integrity. During my time in office, I have attempted to uphold those values, and put Fannin County first. It has not been an easy task. I have chosen not to feather my own nest. I have not shown a bias for family or friends. I have refused to play politics. I have kept my oath to uphold the law and will continue to do so for the remainder of my term in office.

I believe that honest, fair, and open elections are key to the freedom we enjoy as American citizens. Fortunately, in Fannin County we enjoy that freedom. Our election process is sacrosanct. On March 3, 2026, in the republican primary, 4,735 of our citizens voted for the republican nominees for various offices, including that of Fannin County Judge. No candidate for County Judge received the necessary votes, necessitating a runoff election in May of this year. I did not make the runoff. I received 22.07 percent of the vote compared to John Tynan’s 23.48 percent, H. Compton 36.18 percent. Mr. Tynan and Mr. Compton will be on the ballot in the May runoff election.

I have informed both H. Compton and John Tynan that whoever wins in November, I will be available to cooperate and assist in effecting a smooth transition. It is important that we as citizens get out and vote. Thank those of you who supported me.
