Honey Grove, Texas -- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rhonda Cranford Moody, 62, a beloved mother, MiMi, sister, and teacher, who passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Honey Grove, Texas, on March 9, 2026. Throughout her illness, Rhonda remained strong in her faith and never lost her trust in God.
Born on January 10, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Rhonda was a beacon of love and compassion in the lives of all who knew her.
Rhonda’s unwavering dedication to her students at Fannindel ISD went far beyond the traditional role of a teacher. Her students were her family, and she viewed her vocation not simply as a job, but as a calling. She nurtured countless children throughout her career, welcoming them as her own and providing love, guidance, and encouragement that extended far beyond the classroom. She also proudly served as the Beta Club sponsor and cherished the many memories made while traveling with her Beta students.
A devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church in Windom, Rhonda found strength and comfort in her faith. She never missed an opportunity to pray for someone in need. Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, Rhonda never met a stranger and believed deeply in the goodness of others. Her love for her country was evident in her patriotism—she often stopped to take pictures of the American flag to share with her loved ones.
Rhonda was the proud mother of four children and lovingly claimed many others as her own. She especially loved being Mimi, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Paula Cranford; her grandparents, Paul and Frances Poston; and her uncle, Morris Poston.
Rhonda is survived by her four loving children: Vanessa Barker and husband Billy, Paula Bonner and husband Charles, Paul Moody, and Britt Moody and wife Michelle. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Bentleigh, Kamora, Malakhi, Whitley, Keagan, Krue, Waylon, and Alaina Rhonda-Jo Bonner.
She is further survived by her siblings: Michelle Greer (Bobby), Danielle Cranford (Kirby), Robin Cranford, Glen Cranford, and Doyle “Sonny” Cranford Jr.; her uncle, Jinkie Poston (Mabel); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Rhonda will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Visitation will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove on March 17, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Cross Trails Cowboy Church on March 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Ladonia, Texas.
