Sam Rayburn Rebels 10, Dodd City 7

Dodd City, Texas -- A decisive fourth inning propelled the Sam Rayburn Rebels to a three-run victory over the Dodd City Hornets in district action Friday evening.

The Rebels racked up two runs in the top of the first inning, but Dodd City countered with three runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Sam Rayburn scored two more runs in the top of the second inning to go up 4-3. Dodd City responded with four runs in the bottom of the second to pull back in front, 7-4.

After a scoreless third inning, the Rebels plated four runners in the fourth frame, added a run in the fifth and another run in the seventh inning en route to a 10-7 win on the road.

Dodd City's Judd Shipman went 1-for-3 and drove in three runs. Cash Crossland, Brody Lappin and Tyler Denney all had one hit apiece.

Eastyn Weissert had one RBI and scored twice. Gavin Shindler scored one and drove in a run.

For Sam Rayburn, Jaxon Throneberry went 2-for-3 and scored four runs. Jamison Dorris, Cooper Robison and Cash Mason each had one hit.

The Dodd City Hornets (2-1) will host Ector on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. The Hornets take to the road on Friday, March 20 for a 4:30 p.m. game at Savoy.
