Dodd City, Texas -- The Ector Lady Eagles improved to 3-0 in district with a 12-4 victory over the Dodd City Lady Hornets.

Ector had a 2-1 lead after the first inning and stretched its advantage to 4-1 after two innings. The Lady Eagles plated another pair of runners in the top of the third and then put the game away with four runs in the top of the fourth to go up 10-2.

Ector tacked on a run in the sixth and another run in the top of the seventh to take a 12-2 lead.

Dodd City scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, giving Ector a 12-4 win on the road. 

The Ector bats blasted away with 24 hits. Ainsley Greathouse and Kutter Watts both went 3-for-4, while Cheyenne Beaty, Aspen Harrison, Alana Mackey and Ella Laymance all went 3-for-5.

Aleea Wheeler, Adalynn Dederick and Audrey Arie had two hits apiece.

Laymance drove in three runs, with Mackey and Greathouse both driving in a pair of runs.

Makayla Camp led Dodd City with three hits.

Arie held Ector to four runs on 12 hits and struck out four to get the win.

Ector will travel to Whitewright for a 4:00 p.m. game on Friday, March 20 and then host Honey Grove on Tuesday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m.
