Ector, Texas -- A big sixth inning helped the Ector Lady Eagles rally for a two-run win over Tioga.

It was Tioga with a 2-1 lead after the first inning, but Ector slipped in front, 3-2, after two innings of play.

Tioga responded with four runs in the top of the third and plated another pair of runners in the top of the fourth frame to build an 8-3 lead.

Ector picked up a run in the bottom of the fourth and then added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to whittle Tioga's advantage down to 8-6.

Tioga was scoreless in the top of the sixth and that's when the Lady Eagles made their move. Ector erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull in front, 12-8.

Tioga scored two runs in the top of the seventh before the third out gave Ector an exciting 12-10 win in front of their hometown fans.

Cheyenne Beaty went 3-for-4, scored once and drove in three runs.

Ainsley Greathouse was 2-for-4, scored twice and drove in four runs.

Aspen Harrison also had a pair of hits, while Adalynn Dederick, Emma Laymance, Aleea Wheeler and Kutter Watts all had one hit apiece.

Ector hammered away with 11 hits in the game.

Audrey Arie struck out nine to earn the win.

The Ector Lady Eagles will travel to Bonham on Tuesday, March 31 to take on the Bonham JV. District action resumes for Ector on Friday, March 3 with a trip to Dodd City for a game at noon.
