Dodd City, Texas -- The Ector Lady Eagles broke a tie in the seventh inning to post an exciting one-run win over the Dodd City Lady Hornets in district action on Friday.
The game opened with two scoreless innings, but that changed when Ector scored three runs in the top of the third inning and Dodd City plated a runner in the bottom half of the frame.
Dodd City put two runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth and the score remained tied at 3-3 through the fifth and sixth innings.
Ector scored the winning run in the seventh inning to earn a 4-3 win on the road.
Ector's Audrey Arie struck out seven and scattered six hits to get the win, while going 3-for-4 with one RBI at the plate.
Alana Mackey and Ella Laymance both had a pair of hits.
For Dodd City, Gracyn Shindler was 2-for 4 and scored once. Kelsey Hewitt only allowed one earned run, but was tagged with the loss.
The Ector Lady Eagles will travel to Trenton on Tuesday, April 7.
