Dodd City, Texas -- These two teams split victories in during district competition, but the Ector Eagles took the district Class 1A title with an 11-2 win over the Dodd City Hornets in the deciding third game.

Ector had a 3-1 advantage after the first inning and pulled away for a nine-run victory.

Zach Hull got the start for Ector and went six innings to get the win. Kaleb Haggard came on in relief in the seventh inning.

Haggard went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Judd Shipman and Tyler Denney both had two hits for Dodd City.

The Hornets have a doubleheader on Tuesday in Collinsville starting at 4:30 p.m.
