Bonham, Texas -- We’re excited to welcome homeschool students to the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site for Homeschool Day on Thursday, April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All visitors to our site on this day will pay a $3.00 entrance admission fee, which does cover a self-guided tour of the Rayburn House – tours of the Rayburn House occur on the hour, space is limited, and there are no guarantees that you will get a tour spot, so reservations are recommended.

Homeschool students can expect to meet with area groups that offer educational resources or membership opportunities. We will also have activities and games available, and a cash-only pop-up store will also be on-site! This event is sponsored by the Friends of Sam Rayburn.

Event participants include: Bonham Public Library, Bonham State Park, Creative Arts Center, Fannin County 4-H, Fannin County Amateur Radio Club (K5FRC), Fannin County Master Gardeners, Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Kimball Ranch, North Texas Municipal Water District Stream Trailer, the Sam Bell Maxey House SHS, and the Texas High School Bass Association.

The Sam Rayburn House is located at 890 W. State Hwy 56 in Bonham, TX. Contact us at (903) 583-5558 or email Margo.McCutcheon@thc.texas.gov for more information or to reserve your place on a house tour on April 23.

In the event of bad weather, we will release information about a backup date.
