Jack Graman ’26 Receives 2026 Alpha Chi Scholarship

Sherman, Texas -- The Alpha Chi National College Honor Society announced the recipients of its 2026 National Scholarship and Fellowship Competition, including Austin College student Jack Graman ’26. 

Graman received the H. Y. Benedict Fellowship, which honors the society’s first president, Dr. Harry Yandell Benedict. “I am very thankful to have received the Alpha Chi H.Y. Benedict Fellowship,” said Graman. “Receiving this scholarship helps relieve the financial stress associated with law school and will help me really focus on my studies. Additionally, with less financial constraint, I will be able to better explore all the opportunities law school has to offer. I am so thankful to Alpha Chi, my parents, and the faculty at Austin College who have helped me succeed!”

Graman is a current undergraduate senior at Austin College double-majoring in Political Science and International Economics & Finance with a minor in German Studies. He serves as the President of the Jewish Student Association, Vice President of the DRAKE Fraternity, and as a Climate Ambassador. Throughout his time at Austin College, Graman has studied in over 20 countries through the Asia-Pacific Scholars Program, GO! Fellowship, and various JanTerms abroad. His interests include Asia-Pacific security policy, national development, naval strategy, and international affairs. After graduating, Graman plans to attend SMU Dedman School of Law to pursue a Juris Doctorate and hopes to serve as Navy JAG Officer after law school.

With twenty-six student members being awarded a total of $75,000 this year, these scholarships and fellowships recognize the academic achievement and dedication of Alpha Chi members and support their continued education in various fields of study. 

Alpha Chi National College Honor Society invites to membership juniors, seniors, and graduate students from all disciplines in the top ten percent of their classes at its member institutions. Chartered on more than 300 campuses nationwide, chapters induct approximately 8,000 students annually. Since the Society's founding in 1922, Alpha Chi members, charged with upholding the tenets of Truth and Character, have dedicated themselves to “making scholarship effective for good.” Alpha Chi is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
