Bonham, Texas -- At this stage of the season there are only eight Class A softball teams still in the hunt for the state title and one of them is the Ector Lady Eagles.
Ector defeated the Dodd City Lady Hornets 8-6 on Saturday to sweep this regional semifinals series.
Ector's Cheyenne Beaty went 2-for-2, scored twice, walked once and drove in two runs.
Adalynn Dederick and Audrey Arie both went 2-for-4. Dederick drove in a pair of runs and Arie had one RBI.
Alana Mackey, Aleea Wheeler, Ainsley Greathouse and Kutter Watts all had one hit for Ector.
Gracyn Shindler, Kailen Kavanaugh, Kelsey Hewitt and Kendyl Lindsey led Dodd City at the plate with two hits apiece.
Arie picked up the win and had three strikeouts.
Ector, the District 11-A champs, will advance to face Jonesboro, the top seed out of District 11-A, in the regional finals with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
