McKinney, Texas – The fast-growing sport of pickleball will take center stage in McKinney this week as the US Senior Pickleball South Zone Championship makes its debut in the city.

Scheduled for April 24–26, 2026, the tournament will be held at the Courts of McKinney Pickleball and Tennis Center, marking the first time this prestigious senior competition has been hosted in McKinney.

Organized by US Senior Pickleball (USSP), the event is part of a nationwide championship series designed specifically for athletes aged 50 and older. The tournament is expected to draw competitors from across Texas and beyond, highlighting both the rapid growth of pickleball and the increasing popularity of senior-level competition.

The three-day tournament will feature a full slate of competition, including men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across multiple age and skill divisions. Events will begin on Friday with women’s doubles and men’s singles, continue Saturday with mixed doubles, and conclude Sunday with men’s doubles and women’s singles.

In addition to crowning champions, the South Zone Championship serves as an official qualifier for the 2026 US Senior Pickleball National Championships, to be held later this year in Arizona. Medalists from McKinney will earn priority registration for the national event, adding a high level of competition and prestige to the weekend.

US Senior Pickleball is dedicated to promoting active lifestyles and competitive opportunities for players over 50, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community through the sport.

With hundreds of participants already registered and spectators expected throughout the weekend, the event is anticipated to bring significant energy and economic impact to the McKinney area.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to attend and experience one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, as McKinney welcomes this major regional championship for the very first time.
