Durant, Okla. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Brad Ludrick as Vice President for Student Development. A dedicated educator and longtime member of the Savage Storm community, Ludrick brings decades of experience in higher education and K–12 leadership, along with a deep commitment to student success.
A proud Southeastern alumnus, Ludrick earned his bachelor’s degree in 1993 and his master’s degree in 1997. He later completed his doctorate at Texas A&M University–Commerce in 2002. He has continued investing in his professional growth, completing a graduate certificate in building-level leadership from Oklahoma State University in 2023 and a graduate certificate in district-level leadership from Southeastern in 2025.

Ludrick began his career at Southeastern in 1997 as an instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Over the years, he advanced through the faculty ranks, earned tenure in 2008, and was promoted to full professor in 2016. Throughout his service, he has contributed to the university’s mission through the Faculty Senate and numerous councils and committees.
In addition to his academic leadership, Ludrick has been a strong supporter of Savage Storm athletics —serving as head coach for cross country from 1999 to 2013 and as the NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative from 2019 to 2021. He also served as associate vice president for academic affairs and tribal relations from 2019 to 2021, further strengthening partnerships and advancing student-focused initiatives across campus.
Beyond higher education, Ludrick has taught at the high school level and most recently served as a public school superintendent — experience which adds valuable perspective to his work supporting and advocating for students.
Ludrick also served honorably in the military from 1989 to 2003, concluding his service at the rank of captain.
Ludrick and his wife, Ardeth (a 1991 Southeastern graduate and second grade teacher), are proud parents of three children and are celebrating an expanding family, with a daughter-in-law and a grandchild on the way.
