Tioga, Texas -- In their final district game against a Class 2A opponent, the playoff-bound Dodd City Hornets dropped a 13-1 decision to the Tioga Dawgs.

Tioga senior Cameron Askew tossed a one-hitter and struck out eight to get the win.

Dodd City's Aaron Solano went 1-for-3 to collect the Hornets' only hit.

Dodd City's next game is Senior Night in Dodd City against Savoy on Friday night at 6:30. Seniors will play catch with parents before the game and then throw out first pitch of the game. Senior awards will be after the game.

The Hornets will face Campbell in the bi-district round next Wednesday night, April 29, in Farmersville. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
