Plano, Texas -- The fifth annual Juneteenth Fashion Show presented by Legacy West and produced by Think Three Media will return to the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall on June 19, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Ubuntu: Together, We Are – Together, We Rise,” is a powerful celebration of the contributions of the African-American community in fashion, design, and entertainment, while honoring the global cultural influence of the African diaspora—uniting our cultures, stories, and style in one shared expression of heritage, pride, and collective strength. “Ubuntu”, which translates to “I am, because we are”, is a concept deeply rooted in African philosophy. The adage embodies the belief in shared humanity and community spirit, which will be a focal point for the Juneteenth Fashion Show experience.

Partial proceeds will benefit The African Think Tank—a non-profit organization dedicated to uniting Africans and friends of Africa for lasting impact in community, business and culture.
“Legacy West thrives on the energy of our diverse community, with a rich fabric of cultures reflected in our visitors, employees, retailers, and restaurants,” said Liz Gallagher, director of property marketing and specialty leasing with Legacy West. “We are honored to commemorate Juneteenth with a curated experience that spotlights the cultural impact of the Black community on art, fashion and entertainment. We invite everyone to join us for this exciting celebration of culture and community.”

The 5th annual experience will be emceed by veteran media personality Lady Jade, Comedian Michael Shawn, with a special co-host appearance by Black Menswear’s NeAndre Broussard, and entertainment led by LaLa Johnson and Cupid, “The Line Dance King”. A selection of 9 designers and retailers (many award-winning) will work the runway displaying an array of colorful, bold, and vibrant designs styled to theme, including: Legacy West Collection styled by Kristen Briggs; the House of Dasha; Crossed Hats by Mahiri Takai (NBC’s On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, Men’s Fashion Week); Black Menswear; Deidre Hardin; bridal and eveningwear brand Kishme; a special celebrity-inspired segment by Emmy-winning stylist Catrina the Creative; Indigo 1745 Collective; and more!
"I am grateful once again to Legacy West for their partnership in not only honoring Juneteenth, but bringing one of the largest outdoor fashion events in celebration of Black culture to North Texas," said Leah Frazier, CEO of Think Three Media. "This year's theme of 'Ubuntu' honors our ancestors, heritage and roots, while beautifully celebrating as a collective the contributions that make Black culture so incredibly unique and special. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the prints, patterns and style that will emerge from this year’s theme.”

Doors to the fashion show will open at 5:30 p.m. for a pre-event shopping experience with Black-owned businesses, followed by pre-show entertainment and beats by Dr. DJ Mack. The show will begin promptly at 7PM, followed by an official after party led by Cupid, “The Line Dance King”. Tickets are on sale at LegacyFoodHall.com.
