Bonham, Texas -- In the first game of a best-of-three Region II-A semifinal series, the Ector Lady Eagles doubled up on the Dodd City Lady Hornets, 8-4.

Dodd City got on the scoreboard first with a run in the bottom of the second inning, but Ector pulled even at 1-1 in the top of the third.

Ector scored three runs in the fourth inning and added four runs in the top of the sixth to build an 8-1 lead.

Dodd City battled back with three runs in the bottom of the seventh before the rally fell short, giving Ector an 8-4 victory.

Game two is set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at Bonham, with game three to follow if necessary.
