McKinney, Texas -- McKinney North's Brooks Nelson got the start on May 9, 2026 and the win against Frisco in game two of the area round playoffs.
Brooks pulled a muscle in the second inning, but the senior toughed it out. Shortly after hurting his back, Nelson came up to bat and hit a home run over the left field wall.
Under the direction of McKinney North head coach Joey Hector, the Bulldogs went on to win 12-1 over Frisco at Jim Gatewood Field at McKinney North High School.
McKinney North advances to face Ennis in the regional semifinals.
