Bonham, Texas - Treasure hunters, road-trippers, bargain shoppers, and families are invited to travel through the Red River Valley region of Texas for the annual US Hwy 82/287 Yard Sale, happening Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The regional event features more than 400 miles of treasure hunting and town hopping, bringing participating communities together to encourage visitors to explore local sales, downtown merchants, flea markets, trade days, farmers markets, historic sites, restaurants, and attractions along the Hwy 82 and Hwy 287 corridors.

Participating towns will have maps available to guide shoppers to special sale sites throughout their communities. Some towns will host yard sales in a central location, while others will feature sales spread throughout town. Still others will showcase downtown merchants, flea markets, trade days, or farmers markets.

Here in Bonham, the event will feature a community-wide yard sale, along with downtown sidewalk sales, local shopping, dining, and opportunities to explore all that Bonham has to offer. Maps will be available at the Bonham Visitor Center, located at 211 N. Main Street, Bonham, Texas 75418.

“This event is a great opportunity to bring visitors into Bonham and Fannin County while supporting our local businesses, downtown merchants, and community members,” said Melissa Maxwell, Director of Tourism & Marketing. “The Hwy 82/287 Yard Sale is more than just shopping it encourages people to travel, explore small towns, discover historic downtowns, and experience the charm of the Red River Valley region.”

The event is designed to be fun for the entire family. Visitors traveling through the region can discover everything from heritage homes and historic downtowns to art, antiques, cattle trails, cultural facilities, local food, unique shops, and hidden treasures along the way.
